After legalizing sports betting in the U.S. in 2018, NASCAR needed an official data product and betting solution to serve fans in every state. We built an official betting product for NASCAR that includes over 25 in-race bet types and gives sportsbooks the ability to place bets on every lap of every race. This data-powered solution gives NASCAR fans in regulated states an engaging live experience. Here’s a look at the three companies that have signed up as official betting partners.
The NFL has been aggressive in its partnership with sportsbook operators, integrating gambling content into broadcasts and letting betting permeate the stadium experience. It has announced exclusive betting partnerships with DraftKings, FanDuel, and Caesars, and expects to generate $270 million in revenue from gambling deals this year. While the NFL has been aggressive in its gambling partnerships, there’s a delicate balance involved. The league will be careful not to alienate casual fans by adding gambling to its broadcasts, and this approach may result in a broader shift in the way the NFL views gambling.
The NFL has also allowed other sportsbooks to sponsor teams in states where gambling is legal. However, they’re not allowed to market that relationship to consumers in those states. Local teams can also sign official betting data deals with the NFL but are not allowed to market their relationships outside of their geographical area. However, the NFL and Genius Sports have different rules on the promotion and marketing of official betting. Ultimately, it’s the consumers’ choice whether they want to bet on a game or not.
